As a landscape designer for many years, I’ve explored the beauty of plants, their arrangements, contours and colors, from the northeast to the tropics. “Tom” Burke’s work has always given me the feeling of residing deep within the plant or far above the landscape looking down on the interweaving of color and form that gardens take from a long distance. His work resonates their complexity, intimacy, sensuality, and power. It has amazed me how much can be seen in his work, fascinating in detail and in its breathtakingly stunningly hues.

I want to design outdoor spaces with Burke art. in the tropics, where his vivid palette reflects the magenta bougainvillea, orchids, and brightly varied bromeliads. In the north, where his images deepen the experience of summer colors and fall’s richness., imagine them as pillows, table tops, adorning walls. Garden art that stimulates and refresh the soul.

In my work with fabrics, designs and fabrication, I see the potential of Burke’s abstractions, colors and designs to become scarfs. pillows, wall hangings living out their beauty to adorn our bodies, our homes and outdoor spaces. I bring many years of fabric craft to bare on making pieces with high quality and artistic appreciation.

A longtime private art collector, I have been drawn to Burke’s work for its sumptuous colors, for its bold tribal rhythm’s and intimations of landscapes. I live with art indoors and out and bringing Burke’s work outdoors on metal and fabrics has opened my eyes to new ways of seeing and appreciating his work. I see this as an artistic collaboration where his art can become a part of many lives, adding immeasurable pleasure and beauty.
